Product description
Safepad is a reusable and sustainable cloth pad, made of a soft, durable and breathable material, which ensures you protection and comfort month after month. The pad is designed with an antimicrobial treatment, which ensures a comfortable and infection-free period throughout the life of the pad. No harmful chemicals are used in this treatment. The treatment is also permanently bound to the fabric, and therefore does not "spread" off, either in contact with the skin or when washing.
Safepad cloth pads are designed with a "non-slip" backing, which keeps the pad in place during use. In addition, the fabric bandage has two button options, so that the bandage can be adjusted in relation to the width of the panty.

Sheworks' atelier reduces waste and creates jobs for women on the edge of the labor marketSheworks Atelier is a social economic enterprise in Kolding, started back in 2019 as an offshoot of a research project at Designskolen Kolding. Sheworks Atelier is headed by Solveig Søndergaard, and the business is based on the UN's Global Goals 5 (Equality), 8 (Decent jobs and economic growth), 12 (Responsible consumption and production), and 13 (Climate Action). This is reflected in the core concepts of the business. Sheworks is a design studio which makes significant efforts to reduce the textile industry's CO2 footprint and to create jobs for a large number of women on the edge of the labor market. Here, more than 15 refugee and immigrant women develop their talents in needlework and design, to create beautiful and unique bags, pillows and stuffed animals, etc. out of surplus textiles from the Danish textile industry. The list of partners from whom the textiles are brought home is long and varied. Thus, both leftovers from Danish sofa, curtain and tent manufacturers etc. are transformed. for unique and useful designs, and sold in our own webshop, as well as out at the partner's premises. At Sheworks there is a positive framework for community, networking and personal development. Refugee and immigrant women excel and contribute with their craft, all the while getting a foothold in the Danish labor market and being helped to create a solid basis for existence for themselves and their loved ones. We are incredibly proud to be allowed to help focus on this important and local agenda with our joint project. |

At RealRelief, we share the ambition to make a difference for women, the environment and the world goalsThere is more than one good reason why our joint project is important. We are two companies from Kolding which, in our own way, are fighting to make a visible and noticeable difference to our world, with a special focus on promoting girls' and women's rights and opportunities for an independent life. Sheworks Atelier has, as described, their primary focus on local equality and environmental impact, while we at Real Relief have largely focused on the world's developing countries and crisis-stricken areas. Since 2013, we at Real Relief have designed and produced a range of innovative, life-enhancing and life-saving products for the humanitarian sector. We design all our products from a sustainable and climate-friendly perspective. With our reusable and infection-free sanitary pads, Safepad, we also put the rights and equal opportunities of girls and women at the top of our agenda. |
Safepad is a reusable and sustainable cloth pad, made of a soft, durable and breathable material, and it is designed with an antimicrobial treatment, which ensures a comfortable and infection-free period throughout the life of the pad. By ensuring girls and women access to sanitary hygiene products, as well as information on the subject, we also improve their opportunity to complete an education and create an independent basis for existence for the future. Thus, we are also working towards a number of the UN's Conservation Goals. We have a particular focus on world goals 3 (Health and well-being), 4 (Quality education), 5 (Gender equality), 6 (Clean water and sanitation), 8 (Decent jobs and economic growth), and 12 (Responsible consumption and production). |

Our joint project
Together with Sheworks Atelier, we focus on the climate, integration, equality and responsible consumption and production. At Sheworks Atelier in Kolding, they have sewn a lot of Safepads and packed them in fine fabric bags, specially designed for the purpose. The fabric bags are sewn from surplus textiles from the Danish textile industry, and like the Safepad, they can be used again and again.
Sheworks Atelier is a social economic enterprise that works to reduce the textile industry's CO2 footprint and to create jobs for women on the edge of the labor market. In their creative collective in Kolding, skilled refugee and immigrant women sit and sew beautiful and unique designs from surplus textiles from the Danish textile industry.
Buy our specially made Safepads, take a stand and help us focus on the positive development at home, as well as abroad.
That's why you should choose Safepad:
- Our cloth napkins have a high and immediate absorbency, without the risk of leakage.
- The fabric bandage disinfects itself after washing and in use, using the antimicrobial treatment.
- It is quick drying and can withstand at least 100 washes (see washing instructions below)
- Our cloth pads are an environmentally friendly and comfort-promoting alternative to plastic menstrual products.
- Safepad was originally developed with the aim of ensuring a safe and infection-free period for girls and women in third world countries. In many of these countries, poor sanitary conditions and a lack of information and open dialogue around the subject are a reality. Such conditions put an unreasonable number of women at risk of infectious diseases, as well as missing school and exclusion from various social gatherings while they are menstruating. We are fighting to make a difference for all these women, and you can read much more about our mission here: https://www.realreliefway.com/products/safepad
